Patna, 23 September (HS). A total of 24 proposals were approved in the Bihar Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. The Cabinet approved the establishment of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar University in Begusarai and Maa Sita Mahila University in Patna on the birth anniversary of national poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Administrative approval of Rs 15 crore was also given for the salaries etc. of the officers and employees of Dinkar University.
The Cabinet, while approving the Chief Minister Go-Dhan Vikas Loan Scheme for cattle farmers, decided to provide 100 percent subsidy on the interest on bank loans. Under this, the beneficiaries will have to repay only the principal amount. An amount of more than Rs 1,600 crore has been sanctioned for the scheme. Emphasis will be laid on increasing milk production and increasing the income of cattle farmers through three cows or two buffaloes of improved breed.
The cabinet meeting also approved the establishment of a new sugar mill in Warisaliganj. An investment of more than Rs 500 crore is proposed in the project. This is expected to benefit the farmers of Nawada, Nalanda, Sheikhpura and Jamui.
In the meeting, under Seven Nishchay-3, dairy development schemes in Supaul, Madhepura and Saharsa under Kosi Milk Producers Cooperative Union were also approved. Curd plant, premium ice cream plant, milk chilling plant and other facilities will be developed at a cost of about Rs 126.07 crore.
To strengthen the police system, administrative approval of Rs 336.85 crore was given for the purchase of equipment related to Lok Bhawan along with District Police, Railway Police, Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau. Approval has also been given to purchase 50 drones under the Centrally Sponsored Police Modernization Scheme. Rs 24.50 crore will be spent on these. These will be used in crowd control, operations in river areas, anti-Naxal operations and disaster management.
The Cabinet decided to adjust the loan of Rs 41.0041 crore given earlier as grant to Municipal Corporation Patna for payment of salaries of employees. The plan to implement e-Sushrutha NX application in 12 medical institutions of the state was also approved.
Apart from this, Bihar Boiler (Investigation, Adjudication and Appeal) Rules, 2026 were approved. Cabinet decisions include proposals related to higher education, animal husbandry, dairy, sugar industry, police modernization and health sector.
