Patna, 18 September (HS). There is going to be a special gathering of JDU MLAs and Legislative Council members today under the chairmanship of former Chief Minister and Janata Dal United (JDU) supremo Nitish. The party has described it as a one-day enlightenment programme. JDU MLAs, MLCs and MPs will participate in the program.
There is certainly a strong discussion in political circles regarding the program, but the party has made it clear that its purpose is to give information to the MLAs and MLCs about the functioning of the House and their legislative responsibilities. That is, at present the program is not being linked to any major political or organizational decision.
JDU’s national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad told in the conversation that a one-day awareness program will be organized in the Karpuri auditorium of the state office. In this, the party’s Assembly and Legislative Council members will be given information about their legislative responsibilities.
The party says that the purpose of this program is to make the role of JDU public representatives in the House more effective. The training has been organized with the aim to enable the MLAs and MLCs to present the issues related to the interest and public welfare of Bihar firmly with facts in the House.
Not only senior leaders of the party, but experts on legislative matters will also be present in this program. According to the information, experts associated with PRS Legislative Research will provide training to JDU MLAs and MLCs.
During the training, information can be given on topics like raising questions in the House, understanding legislative processes and effectively presenting issues related to public interest. Along with this, a separate session has also been kept for question and answer.
In today’s meeting, JDU National Working President Sanjay Jha, Nitish Kumar’s son and Health Minister Nishant Pradesh President Umesh Singh Kushwaha and party legislature party leader Shravan Kumar will also be present in the program.
After all the JDU MLAs and MLCs were called together to Patna, discussions regarding this program definitely started in the political circles. One reason for this is that various types of discussions have been taking place within the party for some time regarding the organization and future politics.
From changing the name of JDU to the party’s stance on issues like UCC and the upcoming MLC elections, political discussions have been going on. Apart from this, speculations about Nitish Kumar’s son and Health Minister Nishant Kumar being given bigger responsibility in the organization have also fueled the discussion.
However, these speculations have been rejected by senior party leaders. JDU has made it clear that the program of September 18 is mainly related to training and orientation for MLAs and MLCs. There is no plan for any political or organizational decision in this.
