Patna : The three-day Patna Pen Exhibition organized by INTACH Patna Chapter concluded on Sunday at Bihar Lalit Kala Academy with certificates distributed among the participants. Chief guest Vinay Kumar, director of Bapu Tower, said that this art has been brought alive by the hard work of the participants. He requested that the next training should be conducted at Bapu Tower Art Gallery. Special guest and senior photojournalist BK Jain said that the features of this exhibition include the modern style along with the traditional style of Patna Kalam.
Presiding over the closing ceremony, Dr. Umesh Chandra Dwivedi said that artists will have to take the responsibility of bringing Patna Kalam alive with patience, dedication and commitment. Bhairav Lal Das, convener of INTACH Patna Chapter, said that after seeing the paintings of the youngest artist Shrija Sharan, it can be easily guessed that the new generation is ready to take over the reins of Patna Kalam. He informed that the process for GI tag for Patna pen has been started. He also directed the participants to make artisan cards. Dr. Shiv Kumar Mishra, co-convenor of INTACH Bihar said that the date of our next residential program and Delhi exhibition will be announced soon.
He said that a request has been made to include Patna Kalam in the craft list of the Textiles Ministry of the Government of India. The participants included well-known doctor and art connoisseur Dr. Himanshu Rai, Azfar Ahmed of Patna Planet, senior journalist Arun Singh, Dr. Binay Karan, Kamal Nayan Srivastava, Professor Jayant Kumar of NIFT Patna, Nibha Labh, Alka Das, Kalpana Kumari, Sangeeta Kumari, Ramu Kumar, Jitendra Mohan, Bharat Bhushan Jha, Spruha Singh, Hriday Narayan Jha, Mazhar Ilahi, Ravi Shankar Upadhyay, Sumit Saurabh etc. encouraged.
