Saran, 22 September (HIST). Last night, a young man was brutally attacked and murdered with bricks, stones and sharp weapons in the airport complex adjacent to the sensitive police line in the city police station area.
The deceased is Sachin Kumar, a resident of Muzaffarpur district, who worked in a sweet shop located at Gandhi Chowk in Chapra. As soon as information about the incident was received, Senior Superintendent of Police Roshan Kumar and Additional Superintendent of Police Ram Pukar Singh reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
The entire area was sealed by the police in a hurry. Senior Superintendent of Police Roshan Kumar said that the companion of the deceased initially told that while he was out for a walk, miscreants in an auto tried to snatch his mobile phone and attacked him when he protested, after which he ran away to save his life. He dialed 112 and informed the shop owner about the incident. During interrogation, many contradictions were found in the statements of the deceased’s partner. Despite misleading the police, Sachin’s body was recovered from the bushes after a search of about one and a half hour.
During investigation, traces of blood were also found inside the ears of Manohar Kumar. The police have recovered his torn and blood-stained clothes, the mobile phone of the deceased and the bricks and stones used in the murder, which were hidden near the spot.
The Forensic Science Lab team has collected scientific evidence from the spot.
Police are currently interrogating suspect Manohar Kumar.
Senior Superintendent of Police Roshan Kumar has claimed that the entire case will soon be exposed on the basis of technical evidence and scientific investigation.
